There are several reasons why the LAHS boys’ victory in the state cross country 4A finals should have been on the front page of Sunday’s paper instead of the back page. Academy, ranked number two in the entire USA, had beaten Los Alamos four times during the season and were overwhelming favorites. They scored two of the top three places in the race and had three very fast runners to back them up. It took some heroic running by our number four and five runners to pass them for us to squeeze out a win. Now, that is front page stuff! Also I would like to mention my disappointment with Bob Scott. He has been a terrific football coach and I have always admired his style – win or lose. But to let his team rack up 95 points is an abominable sin. There is no excuse for letting a team suffer that kind of humiliation and I question the judgment of letting such a thing happen.Aaron GoldmanLos Alamos
