The New Mexico Interscholastic Ice Hockey League will start play for the 2010-11 season tonight in Albuquerque.
NMIIHL, which Los Alamos High School competes in, opens its season at Outpost Arena. Cibola will play the Albuquerque OutKast at 6 p.m. Saturday’s games include La Cueva at Eldorado, St. Pius X at Cibola and the OutKast at Sue Cleveland.
Cleveland, a school in Rio Rancho, is the newest edition to the NMIIHL. With the addition of Cleveland, there are now 10 schools competing in the league.
The Hilltopper hockey team has not yet released its season schedule. The earliest game for the varsity, listed on lahockey.org, is set for Nov. 5 at Taos.
Los Alamos plays its home games at Los Alamos County Ice Rink.
