Auctions
Library auctions Southwest Art Collection. The Friends of the Jemez Springs Public Library will hold an online auction of selected works of regional artists including Leo Neufeld, Sue Stevens and George A. Hart. All proceeds from the sale will support the Jemez Springs Public Library programs and services. Opens Sept. 1 and bids will be accepted through Sept. 30. Auditions
Auditions for The Adobe Theater’s production of “Lost Letter,” written by W.G. Allen and directed by George A. Williams. 2-5 p.m., Aug. 24, 7-9 p.m., Aug. 25. Performance dates are Oct. 25 to Nov. 17. Available roles: six men, three women, aged 20-50. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. SOMOS Summer Writer Series. Writers include Wally Lamb, Mirabai Starr, John Nichols, Demetria Martinez and more. During the six-week series, through Aug. 21, different authors will read from selected works each Wednesday, starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $6 to $12 depending on the event, and are always free for students. Millfest, near Mora, at the Cleveland Roller Mill Museum, 44 miles southeast of Taos. The two-day event is Labor Day weekend — Aug. 31 to Sept. 1. Attendance is approximately 2,500 to 3,000 persons.
