Zane Bennett Contemporary Art announces the exhibition of James Harvard, “Staying Ahead of the Beast.” This exhibit spans 40 years of painting with an emphasis on his “Abstract Illusionist” era, featuring paintings, archival boxes and sculptures dating from the late 1970s to 2012. The show opens June 29, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. at 435 S. Guadalupe St.
“Other Views,” an exhibit of new work by Verne Stanford will open with a reception from 5-7 p.m. June 29 at Mill Fine Art, 530 Canyon Road, Santa Fe. The exhibit will be on display through July 24.
“Boom Blooms, Bugs and Blossoms,” an exhibit featuring work by Cheri Reckers and Michael Ceschiat, will open with a reception from 5-8:30 p.m. July 6 at the Weyrich Gallery, 2935-D Louisiana Blvd. NE, Albuquerque. The show will be on display through July 27.
Book signings
Travis King will sign copies of his book, “Blessed are the Pure of Heart,” at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort, 1300 Tuyuna Trail, Santa Ana Pueblo.
Concerts
The 13th Annual Thirsty Ear Festival will be through Sunday at Santa Fe Sol. Dozens of folk, blues, bluegrass, zydeco, Cajun, roots rock and world music artists will be featured all weekend. For more information, visit ThirstyEarFestival.com.
