Zane Bennett Contemporary Art announces the exhibition of James Harvard, “Staying Ahead of the Beast.” This exhibit spans 40 years of painting with an emphasis on his “Abstract Illusionist” era, featuring paintings, archival boxes and sculptures dating from the late 1970s to 2012. The show opens June 29, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. at 435 S. Guadalupe St.
Book signings
Meet Belinda Vasquez Garcia, Albuquerque author of an historical fiction series, the first novel of which takes place in Madrid during the Roaring 20s and Great Depression. Vasquez Garcia will sign copies of “The Witch Narratives: Reincarnation,” from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at Heart of the Lotus Gift Bazaar in Santa Fe Place Mall. There will also be a reading.
Rosemary Zibart, author of “True Brit Beatrice ~ 1940,” will sign her book at 11 a.m. Saturday at Beehive Books, 328 Montezuma Ave., Santa Fe.
Comedy
Judy Tenuta brings her comedy show to the Maria Benitez Cabaret at the Lodge, 750 N. St. Francis Dr., Santa Fe, at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Tickets, $35, are available at ticketssantafe.org or by calling 988-1234.
