Come to the 2008 Los Alamos Heart Council Health Fair from 8 a.m. – noon Saturday at Los Alamos High School’s Griffith Gymnasium.
This year, the Heart Council extends a special invitation to local young adults to attend the Health Fair.
“Young adults are often under or uninsured and consequently have limited access to health care services,” Ann ReVelle, president of the Council, said. “We want them to know about the free and low-cost services we offer at our Health Fair and the many vendors with information and resource materials on an array of health, nutrition and fitness subjects.”
Free services include flu shots (courtesy of the Los Alamos Medical Center); 180 bike helmets for young children, which the Los Alamos Heart Council will provide to children accompanied by a parent; health screenings for glaucoma, high blood pressure, oxygen saturation, hearing loss, asthma and high blood sugar and gait analysis; health insurance information; and many other educational exhibits.
