Harvey E. Yates Jr., who was elected chairman of the Republican Party of New Mexico in January, will be the guest speaker for the Los Alamos Republican Party’s regularly scheduled meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The meeting will be held in one of the meeting rooms at the Hilltop House Hotel.

All Republicans are invited to attend this event of which there is no charge.

Yates states that we are faced with an increased liberal majority in our state and federal legislators whose orientation is toward increasing the power of government and diminishing the rights of individuals. When Chairman Yates ran for the state chairmanship, he had the endorsements of former U.S. Sen. Pete Domenici and U.S. Representatives Heather Wilson and Steve Pearce.

Chairman Yates’ philosophy is that the party must stand for truthfulness and integrity.

He wants to strengthen the state party’s relationship with county parties, increase minority outreach, work with Republican legislators, and develop a team to help recruit, train and finance candidates for local races. For information, contact Ron Dolin at 672-3581.
