A quartet of Los Alamos School of Gymnastics’ Atomic Tumblers won gold medals in individual events at the level 4-6 compulsory state meet.
The state compulsory meet was held in Belen Feb. 26-28.
Sally Grindstaff, Luvina Lucero, Katya Skurikhin and Claire Garnett were all winners at the state meet, with Skurikhin winning a pair of events.
Skurikhin, competing in the level 6, 10-and-under division, won both the uneven parallel bars and vault competitions. Skurikhin finished with a 9.25 on the vault to earn the gold in that event and a 9.20 in the uneven parallel bars to claim that victory.
Grindstaff, meanwhile, scored a 9.05 in the vault competition of the level 4, 12-year-old event. Lucero won the level 5, 14-and-over balance beam event with a score of 9.20 and Garnett won the bars event in the level 6, 13-year-old division.
In addition to the gold medals, the Atomic Tumblers won several silver medals. Katrina Vinyard, Ramya Stevens, Carley Stillwell, Kaelan Prime and Megan Kuzmack were among the event silver medalists from Los Alamos.
The top all-around finishers from Los Alamos were Lucero, Grindstaff and Vinyard, who all finished third in their age divisions.
