Luvina Lucero and Allie Sutherland were big winner for the Los Alamos Atomic Tumblers gymnastics level 4 team in her age group and Hayley Schake was just edged out for the level 7 crown in her age group.
Lucero, Schake, Sutherland and the Tumblers competed at the G-Force Gymnastics Academy meet Jan. 31 in Albuquerque.
At level 4, 57 entrants competed representing six teams. Lucero, competing in the 10-and-older division, finished with an all-around score of 36.375.
To win, Lucero took first on balance beam — earning a score of 9.525 — and first on floor exercise — picking up a 9.25. She was also third on parallel bars (8.75) and seventh on vault (8.85).
In the level 4, 6-9 age division, Sydney Schake placed fourth overall with an all-around score of 35.00. Schake was third on vault (9.05), tied for fourth on floor (8.90), was sixth on bars (8.20), and tied for fifth on beam with an 8.85.
Carley Stilwell placed fifth overall in this age division with an all-around score of 34.85. Stillwell tied for fifth on vault with an 8.90, tied for third on bars with an 8.65, tied for fourth on floor (8.90) with Schake and was eighth on beam with an 8.40.
Jenna Weatherbie was sixth in this age division with an all-around score of 34.15, tying for fifth on beam (8.85) with Schake, tied for sixth on floor with an 8.80, and placed seventh on vault (8.75) and bars (7.75).
Sophia Jeffery also competed in 6-9 year old division, placing third on beam with a 9.05 and was 8th on vault with an 8.60.
In the 10 and older age division, Jackie Cooke was ninth with an all-around score of 33.95. Cooke tied for first on bars with an 8.95.
Elise Kessler and Kaelan Prime also competed in the age division. Kessler was eighth on bars (8.30) and tenth on vault (8.65). Prime tied for 8th on bars (8.30) and beam (8.40)
The Tumblers level 5, 6 and 7 teams traveled to Albuquerque to compete in the Gold Cup Classic Feb. 7-8.
At the Gold Cup Classic, 31 level 7 gymnasts competed in four age divisions, representing nine teams.
The Los Alamos level 7 team placed third in the team competition.
In the 12-year-old division, Haley Schake scored a career-high 36.250, taking third place in the all-around competition, just 0.05 points behind the all-around winner.
Schake placed first on vault with a 9.25, second on bars with a 9.05, fourth on beam with an 8.70, and fifth on floor with a 9.25.
Teammate Annika Bronkhorst competed in the same age division, finishing eighth overall with a 34.225 all-around score. Bronkhorst tied for second on vault (9.20), was ninth on bars (8.45) and beam (7.90) and tenth on floor (8.675).
Jessica Allen took sixth in the 11-and-under age division, earning an all-around score of 34.95. Allen was fifth on beam with an 8.60, tied for fifth on vault with an 8.90, was sixth on beam (8.75) and seventh on floor (8.70).
Katya Skurikhin was the lone level 6 competitor from Los Alamos.
In all, 42 level 6 gymnasts competed in four age divisions.
Skurikhin finished sixth in the 10-and-younger age division with an all-around score of 32.325. She placed third on vault with a 9.0 and sixth on beam (8.075) and floor (8.70).
In level 5 competition, 81 gymnasts competed in seven age divisions.
Sutherland took first place in her age division with an all-around score of 34.10.
She placed first on beam with an 8.55, second on bars with an 8.80, fourth on vault with an 8.15 and fifth on floor with an 8.60.
Teammate Rebecca Runnels took third in this same division with an all-around score of 33.75. Runnels placed second on floor (9.20) and vault (8.35). She was third on beam (8.10) and fourth on bars (8.10).
Megan Kober competed three events in this age division. Kober placed third on vault (8.20), fourth on beam (8.05), and fifth on bars (8.05).
Rachel Andreatta competed in the level 5, 13-year-old division.
Andreatta was eighth with an all-around score of 32.20. She placed eighth on bars with a 7.85 and ninth on vault (8.00), beam (8.00) and floor (8.35).
In the 12-year-old division Mikayla Pulliam was 13th with an all-around score of 32.55, taking 12th on bars (7.75) and 13th on vault (8.15), beam (8.10) and floor (8.55).
In the 11-year-old division Megan Kuzmack was second all-around with a score of 34.05 Kuzmack placed second on beam (8.60), third on bars (8.75), sixth on floor (8.55) and eighth on vault (8.15).
In the same division Zhou Pattillo was 10th with an all-around score of 31.975. Pattillo was first on beam (8.675), ninth on vault (8.10), 10th on floor (7.70) and 12th on bars (7.50).
