Gordon Summer Concert Series lineup announced

Russ Gordon has released his list for the upcoming 2017 that promises to be his “best series yet.” This year will be his 28th year, and his last.
The free concerts are Fridays in Los Alamos from May 19 through Sept. 8. Shows are from 7- 10 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs.
The tentative lineup is:
May 19: Chuchito Valdes Afro-Cuban jazz from Havana, Cuba and Cancun, Mexico. Master of Cuban music including Son, Danzon, Cuban Timba and Guaguanco. Los Alamos Kite Festival Night.
May 26: Deke Dickerson. Alt-Indie Rock, Retro Swing, Rockabilly Revival, Roots-Rock, Hillbilly, Surf, Jump Blues and instrumental rock. The King of the Geek Guitar! From Los Angeles.
June 2: The Coral Creek Band. Americana/Country Rock, bluegrass, Cajun, fol and Island rock from Colorado. Some of the musicians and friends of Leftover Salmon, Yonder Mountain string Band and Railroad Earth.
June 9: Western Centuries Alt./Country-rock, with early R&B, Honky-Tonk twang. Reminiscent of the classic country rock bands like The Band, Flying Burrito Brothers and The Byrds. Los Alamos Chamber Fest Night.
June 16: The Red Elvises. Russian Rock ‘n’ Roll and Siberian Surf Rok. From Moscow and Santa Monica, California. Los Alamos’s favorite Rock ‘n’ Roll band!! LA Daily Post night.
June 23: Big Sam’s Funky Nation. Funk-soul-jazz and rock from New Orleans.
June 30: Grayson Capps Band. Gulf Coast rock guitarist and singer-songwriter. Literate, passionate, reflective and rocking son of a Baptist minister. Compared often to Dave Alvin, John Hiatt, Tom Waits, Ry Cooder, Lowell George and JJ Cale.
July 7: Ian Moore Band. Great Texas blues rock band.
July 14: The Peterson Brothers Band. Another great Texas blues rock band. Los Alamos Science Fest Night.
July 21: Michael Hearne & Shake Russell with Jimmy Stadler. Country and Americana from Texas and Taos.
July 28: Eddy & The Nomads and DK & The Affordables. Nomads play rock and roots rock from ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s plus NM musica del Norteno. DK & The Affordables play roots rock and rockabilly. Two of Los Alamos’s best bands.
Aug. 4: Jim Lauderdale. The great singer-songwriter-performer returns. Country, bluegrass, roots rock and R&B. Winner of Americana Association’s “Lifetime Achievement Award.” Host “Music City Roots” TV show.
Aug. 11: Dale Watson - Americana and roots/rock superstar. Los Alamos County Fair and Rodeo Night.       
Aug. 18: Diego Figuerido. Brazilian jazz and Flamenco guitar master. American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Night with Los Alamos Medical Center.
Aug. 25: Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys. Rock, rockabilly and roots-rock.
Sept 1: The Paladins. Rock and roots-rock hit band from the ‘80s.
Sept. 8: M5-The Mexican Brass. Classical brass from Mexico with pop music. LA Concert Association Night and final concert for 2017 Summer Concert Series.
