GOP forum set for Thursday

The Republican Party of Los Alamos will host a Republican candidates forum from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Duane Smith Auditorium. The forum is open to the public at no charge.

Statewide candidates as well as candidates for the 3rd Congressional District have been invited to participate.

Unopposed candidates will be the first to speak.  

Panels will be set up for the other candidates:  

• Land Commissioners;

• U.S. 3rd District House;

• Lt. Governor; and

• Governor.

Congressman Bill Redmond will be the moderator assisted by panelists Carol A. Clark of the Los Alamos Monitor and Nancy Coombs of KRSN Radio.

The forum will be simulcast by streaming over the Internet and will be broadcast live on KRSN AM 1490.

Winners in the Republican primary will advance to the November general election where Democrats and Republicans will oppose each other.

Absentee voting begins Tuesday, May 4.
