Just three days after getting all 10 of its players in the scoring column, the Los Alamos Hilltopper girls basketball team got nine of 10 on the board.
Friday against the Santa Fe Demons, Los Alamos turned in another excellent, team-oriented offensive showing. The team defense wasn’t too bad, either.
Using a balanced scoring attack, the Hilltoppers dominated the Santa Fe Demons, picking up a 47-32 victory to improve to 2-0 in District 2AAAA play.
Los Alamos held Santa Fe to just three points in the third quarter after allowing the Demons just five in the second quarter to roll to the victory.
In those same two quarters, Los Alamos scored 23 points.
“In practice, we’ve been working hard to get our offense going,” Los Alamos center Monika Teter said. “We’re getting our offense down, we’re getting our passes down. It’s really good.”
Once again Friday, the Hilltoppers got good production from their bench. Anna Scott, who helped spark a rally in the second quarter of Tuesday’s district opener at Bernalillo, again helped get the Hilltoppers cranked up. Scott dropped in a pair of buckets in the second quarter, one she took coast-to-coast off a steal at the top of the Santa Fe key.
