What a summer. It was too dry, then too wet and there were no Fourth of July fireworks in White Rock. It seems like the fire hollowed out the middle of summer, schedules were thrown off and everyone felt a little disconnected from each other.
What we need is a good party. We need to get together for a fun afternoon, bring the kids and grandkids, enjoy the beautiful fall weather, the gift of community and the treasure of friends and family.
We should have no agenda and no program, just free popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, ice cream, balloons and more.
We could have giant bounce houses, the Orbitron, fire trucks, police cars and other cool cars. The Hill Stompers band could show up and perform. The afternoon could conclude with free barbecue and music.
Wait, this party is already planned and is happening from 1-6 p.m. Sept. 24 on the parking lot at the White Rock Baptist Church. There is no admission charge and everything is free.
Just come on over, relax, let the kids play, eat some genuine junk food (it’s good for the soul) and share some special moments with special people in your life.
This is our gift to our community. We want to provide a great time for your family and a genuine blessing to Los Alamos. Come on over.
White Rock Baptist Church is at 80 N.M. 4.
