Celebrating the anticipated new season of the award-winning series, author George R.R. Martin partners with HBO for screenings of “Game of Thrones” at the Jean Cocteau Cinema.
Saturday will begin with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at the Iron Throne, where Mayor Javier Gonzales will declare the day as George R.R. Martin Day.
The day will also feature two public screenings of the show at the Jean Cocteau, as well as the Iron Throne of Westeros on display at Sanbusco Market Center for a period of time. The two screenings, with special appearance by cast member Pedro Pascal, who portrays Oberyn Martell, “The Red Viper,” will show first exclusively in Spanish (which will air on HBO Latino) with the second screening premiere of the English language version. The HBO show kicks off its fourth season, 8 p.m. April 6.
Screening times are, 10:30 a.m., Spanish version to air, 1:30 p.m. English version to air, 7:30 p.m. Invitation only.
Martin, Pascal and Gonzales will be at the ribbon cutting in front of the Iron Throne at 9:30 a.m. located in Sanbusco Market Center. From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., there will be public access to interact and take photographs.
