Family Strengths Network is hosting IMPACT Personal Safety of Santa Fe for a class that empowers participants ages 16 to adult to pay attention to their instincts and speak up — or yell out. The class will be from 6-8:30 p.m. at FSN, 1990 Diamond Dr. (in the Pueblo Complex). Darya Peterson will teach the class.
Participants will practice defensive body language but will not learn physical fighting techniques.
In one-and-a-half hours, the two-part class will cover Personal Safety 101 and Healthy Relationships.
The class will review IMPACT’s Safety Choices: General awareness (believe yourself if you feel a situation is not safe); awareness at home (when you go somewhere outside of your daily routine, let someone know where you are going and when you expect to return); and awareness in your car (locate your keys before you go outside to your car. Refill your gas tank before the risk of running out).
Pizza dinner will be provided.
The class is for students age 16 and older through adult. Register online at www.lafsn.org or call 662-4515 for more information. Cost of the class is $20 per person or $30 per family, which includes pizza.
Financial aid is available.
