Football: Walker delegating defensive responsibilities

LAS CRUCES (AP) — New Mexico State coach DeWayne Walker is delegating the responsibility of calling defensive plays to linebackers coach Dale Lindsey.

Walker said Tuesday the move will allow him to focus more on the team as a whole. He also says it offers the best chance to build the program because he can better manage all aspects of offense, defense, special teams and recruiting.

The Aggies (0-3) play host Saturday night to No. 3 Boise State (3-0) in the Western Athletic Conference opener for both schools.
