* ARROYO AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR... WESTERN LOS ALAMOS COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO EAST CENTRAL SANDOVAL COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO

* UNTIL 400 PM MDT

* AT 201 PM MDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN OCCURRING OVER PORTIONS OF THE LAS CONCHAS BURN SCAR AREA. SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS WERE DRIFTING SOUTHEASTWARD AT ABOUT 15 MPH. RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL GENERALLY RANGE BETWEEN ABOUT A QUARTER AND A HALF INCH WITH LOCALIZED AMOUNTS UP TO SIX TENTHS OF AN INCH.

THIS WILL IMPACT THE LAS CONCHAS BURN SCAR INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO BANDELIER NATIONAL MONUMENT... FRIJOLES CANYON... COCHITI CANYON... PERALTA CANYON... HIGHWAY 4 FROM STATE ROAD 501 JUNCTION TO LAS CONCHAS CAMPGROUND AND DOME WILDERNESS.

* STRONG FLOWS AND HIGH WATER LEVELS ARE EXPECTED IN ARROYOS... SMALL STREAMS AND OVER LOW WATER CROSSINGS. RAPID RUNOFF CAN ALSO BE EXPECTED IMMEDIATELY OVER AND DOWNSTREAM FROM WILDFIRE BURN SCARS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

RUNOFF FROM RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED WATER LEVELS WITHIN VULNERABLE DRAINAGES IN AND DOWNSTREAM OF THE LAS CONCHAS FIRE BURN AREA.
