FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 430 PM MDT FOR EXTREME NORTHWESTERN SANTA FE... EAST CENTRAL SANDOVAL AND SOUTHERN LOS ALAMOS COUNTIES...

AT 218 PM MDT... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT HEAVY RAIN DIMINISHED OVER CENTRAL PARTS OF THE LAS CONCHAS BURN SCAR. HOWEVER... NEARLY AN INCH OF RAIN WAS ESTIMATED TO HAVE FALLEN OVER THE UPPER FRIJOLES CANYON AND COCHITI MESA EARLIER IN THE AFTERNOON. IT CAN TAKE THIS RUN OFF FROM 1.5 TO 3 HOURS TO FLOW DOWNSTREAM TO THE RIO GRANDE. A RAPID AND DANGEROUS RISE IN WATER LEVELS IS EXPECTED IN LOWER PORTIONS OF BLAND CANYON AND FRIJOLES CANYON AT ANY TIME.
