* AT 724 PM MDT... HEAVY RAINFALL AMOUNTS AS HIGH AS 2.7 INCHES FROM PREVIOUS THUNDERSTORMS WERE MEASURED OVER THE SANTA CLARA CANYON. LIFE THREATENING TORRENTS OF WATER ARE EXPECTED TO RACE DOWNSTREAM FROM THE SANTA CLARA CANYON EASTWARD TO THE RIO GRANDE. WHILE RAINFALL HAS MOSTLY DIMINISHED... A SURGE OF WATER WILL WORK TOWARDS THE SANTA CLARA PUEBLO... ESPANOLA... AND CHILI.

THIS WILL IMPACT THE LAS CONCHAS BURN SCAR INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO SANTA CLARA CANYON AND RIO DEL OSO.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

LIFE THREATENING FLOODING OF CREEKS... ROADS AND NORMALLY DRY ARROYOS IS LIKELY. THE HEAVY RAINS WILL LIKELY TRIGGER ROCKSLIDES... MUDSLIDES AND DEBRIS FLOWS IN STEEP TERRAIN... ESPECIALLY NEAR THE BURN AREA.

WATER IN ARROYOS MAY TRAVEL MANY MILES AND TAKE HOURS TO REACH YOUR LOCATION FROM UPSTREAM RAIN AREAS.
