Cabresto Lake: The lake and campground closed May 14 and will stay closed for about six months while the dam is being rebuilt.
Charette Lakes: Fishing was slow to fair using Power Bait for trout. We had no reports on other species.
Cimarron River: Trout fishing was good using brassies, Cimarron specials, red copper John Barrs, tricos, small gold Panther Martins, salmon eggs and worms. Water flow below Eagle Nest Lake as of Monday was 36 cfs. Fishing at the Gravel Pit lakes was fair to good using salmon eggs.
Clayton Lake: Fishing was generally slow with just a few trout taken on salmon eggs and Power Bait and a few small catfish caught on worms. Due to low water conditions, only small boats, kayaks and canoes can be launched.
Conchas Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using crank baits, minnows and grubs for white bass. Fishing was slow to fair using tubes, worms, minnows, top water lures and jerk baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair using liver and cut bait for catfish. We had no reports on other species. The surface water temp was in the mid to upper 70s.The steep north side boat ramp is open.
Coyote Creek: Trout fishing was fair using Power Bait, copper John Barrs and elk hair caddis.
