Catches of the Week
Rio Grande: June 5, Kenneth Hall of Los Lunas caught a 21-inch, 5-pound walleye. He was fishing the river below Elephant Butte and using a Johnson silver minnow with a pearl minnow trailer.
Clayton Lake: June 6, Mikey Montoya of Clayton caught a 6.5-pound walleye and on June 9 caught a 9-pound walleye. He was using a spinner.
Conchas Lake: June 7, Jon Corn of Roswell caught two 10-pound catfish. He was using stink bait.
Bluewater Lake: June 8, Jesse Mendoza of Albuquerque caught a 39.75-inch tiger musky. He was using a Rapala x rap. June 10, Alan Vik and son Daniel Salazar Vik of Albuquerque caught and released a 42-inch tiger musky and seven others ranging from 32 to 36 inches. They were using a 4-inch rainbow colored spoon.
Northeast
Cabresto Lake: The lake and campground closed May 14 and will stay closed for about six months while the dam is being rebuilt.
Charette Lakes: Fishing was fair to good using Power Bait and bead-head nymphs for trout. Fishing was fair using worms for perch.
Cimarron River: Fishing was good using stone flies, Cimarron specials, stimulators, Cimarron worms, nightcrawlers and salmon eggs for trout. Water flow below Eagle Nest Lake as of Monday was 47 cfs.
