Dear friends of the Los Alamos County Summer Concert Series,
Here we go with the last concert of the 2008 Summer Series.
Friday, we’ll be at Zia Credit Union with local blues-rockers Julie Stewart and the Motor Kings and I hope you can join us.
The Motor Kings are a five-piece band that plays mostly original music as well as the music of Etta James, The Allman Brothers, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, Robben Ford, Tina Turner and a few other classics and near classics.
The soulful and powerful Julie Stewart of Santa Fe fronts the group. She realized her calling to sing after listening to Janis Joplin, Etta James and Led Zeppelin. Julie can belt out a song! Rob Heineman of White Rock plays bass and is one of the State’s most in demand musicians.
Greg Woodfin is one great Hammond B3 organ player. Woodfin lives in Los Alamos and writes most of the group’s original music. Tom Briggs is the steady but powerful drummer. He’s shared the stage with Muddy Waters, Coco Taylor, John Mayall and many others. He was raised in Dayton, Ohio but has lived in Santa Fe for years.
The newest member is guitarist Tiho Dimitrov. Dimitrov came to the U.S. from Bulgaria in 1998 and has been living in Santa Fe for a few years.
