Filling July 4 up with music
It was very exciting for the LAHS Bands to once again be able to participate in this year’s Fourth of July festivities.
The products that we’re sold added to the celebration. All of the proceeds directly benefit the operation of the bands.
We have many activities planned for the coming year including two major marching competitions, honor bands, guest artists who will perform with us, clinicians and a spring trip. Fundraisers such as this one allow us to do all of these things.
As always, we will be providing valuable services for the school and community in the form of athletic pep and marching bands, public concerts and outreach programs to the middle and elementary schools.
Last year was a successful one for us and we hope to continue and build on our accomplishments as we further music education efforts in our community.
We hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July and thank you for your support in our fundraising efforts.
We look forward to your continued support and we’ll see you at our performance events throughout the year.
Thank you, Los Alamos!

Tour de Los Alamos whizzes to success
The Roadrunner Cycling Club would like to thank all sponsors, volunteers, participants and spectators for the successful 38th Annual Tour de Los Alamos.
We work hard to have a safe bicycle race that offers our participants and visitors a fantastic sporting experience in our beautiful community.
In particular, we would like to thank our sponsors, including: Los Alamos County, the Los Alamos Police Department, Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation Main Street Program, Los Alamos National Laboratory Facilities, Security, Emergency Operations and especially the Community Programs Office; Los Alamos National Bank, Eye Associates of New Mexico, Pet Pangaea, Los Alamos Monitor, Ruby K’s Café, Los Alamos Family YMCA, Rebound Physical Therapy, James Rickman and Caroline Spaeth, Sol Web Solutions and Starbucks.
We are a small club and our event could not safely occur without the countless hours and enthusiasm of our volunteers.
We thank the Los Alamos Monitor for the great coverage of our event. We appreciate our volunteers more than words can describe.
We look forward to the 39th Annual Tour de Los Alamos in 2011.
Carolyn Zerkle and Bruce Letellier, co-directors, Roadrunner Cycling Club
