A full spectrum of activities is being planned for the Family Strengths Network’s Family Festival.
Not only will there be a wide assortment of things to do, but the schedule will appeal to all ages.
These activities include handling live snakes, conversing with raptors and watching Scottish dancers. Plus, there will be face painting, crafts and other activities. In addition, a number of new activities geared toward older children have been included this year, such as working with a hazmat robot and dancing to Dance, Dance, Revolution. Susan Mack, the executive director of FSN, said the purpose behind the event is to simply have fun. “It’s a celebration and a gift to the community.”
She added that FSN has presented this gift to the community for 18 years. Last year, 500 people participated in the event.
Mack encourages everyone to return to the festival because “it’s a great opportunity, and the price is certainly right. And it’s some place where parents can have fun with their kids. It’s just a great celebration.”
The event will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Fuller Lodge. There is no admission, but donations are requested. Families with children age 3-12 years old are invited to participate.
Los Alamos National Bank and the MainStreet program are sponsoring the event. FSN is a United Way Agency.
