Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and the staff at the Los Alamos Monitor wants to help spread the love this year.
Love Lines are an annual Monitor tradition, and this year, we have prizes for the winning entry. People can submit a poem or a message to their significant other, teacher, friend or boss, for only $12 (30 words or less), by contacting Tonya at 662-4185 x13 or by sending an email to email@example.com. The one that catches the most attention will be eligible for a Valentine’s Day prize package. The deadline for entries is Feb. 11, and a winner will be announced on Feb. 12.
Do you have a tale of timeless romance you would like to share?
Well, the Los Alamos Monitor also is looking for an epic love story to feature on the front page of our Valentine’s Day edition; and the winning story will also be eligible for some wonderful prizes.
Submit your epic love stories to Hope at firstname.lastname@example.org or by dropping them by the Monitor offices. We will be choosing the winning story on Feb. 12.
There will be a prize package awarded for each winning entry. Available prizes include dinner for two at the Pajarito Brew Pub; tickets for 2 to Don Quixote’s Winery & Distillery’s Wine Appreciation Class and a box of handmade chocolates; a night’s stay at the cozy Elk Mountain Lodge in the Jemez; a bottle of wine and two wine glasses from Ponderosa Winery, also in the Jemez; a jewelry gift certificate for Tresa Vorenberg Goldsmith’s in Santa Fe; and more.
