Dear Los Alamos,
The Office of Emergency Management and the Los Alamos Community Health Council are working to help Los Alamos become more prepared in the event of an emergency. As part of our work, community neighbors like Los Alamos National Bank, the Betty Ehart and White Rock Senior Centers, and Barranca and Chamisa elementary schools have bins on hand for the donation of emergency supplies. Our goal is to create emergency kits for the frail and needy in our community. Please consider making a donation of items like batteries, flashlights, canned food items, candles and other essentials to help us. Our collection locations will end soon and we’re nowhere close to our goal. If you’d like to know more about donating, request a presentation on preparedness or a brochure on what you need to be prepared, call the Los Alamos Resource Directory at 699-5969.Bernadette LauritzenCommunity Health Council Coordinator
