KRAUS – Ellen Kraus, a resident of White Rock, N.M., died June 25, 2008, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Ellen was born in New York City, N.Y., and became a draftswoman for Esso Standard Oil. In 1963, she moved with her family to Los Gatos, Calif. Ellen and her husband retired to Sweet Home, Ore., in 1984, where they worked a 44-acre ranch. They moved to White Rock in 2004.
Throughout the years, Ellen devoted time and energy to volunteer work. Ellen is preceded in death by her parents Lula and Willi. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Bob Kraus of White Rock, N.M., her two sons Robert Kraus Jr. and his wife Louise Hanna of White Rock, N.M., and William Kraus and his partner Debbie Acosta of Los Gatos, Calif. She is also survived by four grandchildren Michelle, Noelle, David and Ian; and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held for Ellen at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Los Alamos, N.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider donations to support Youth Program scholarships at Bethlehem Lutheran Church (www. bethluth. com).
