Residents are encouraged to dial #DWI to report drunk drivers

By Special to the Monitor

The Los Alamos Police Department began conducting DWI checkpoints Saturday and will continue to do so throughout the summer.

The public can help reduce the threat drunk drivers pose to motorists by calling the Drunk Busters hotline any time they spot a suspected drunk driver, Los Alamos Police Sgt. Andrew Goldie said.

The number to call from a cell phone is simple: #DWI, or #394.

Residents in Los Alamos can also call the Los Alamos County Police Department directly at 662-8222 to report drunk drivers seen traveling on the roads in Los Alamos County.
