CLINTON – Donald F. Clinton, 93, passed away Feb. 9, 2008, at the Los Alamos Medical Center, where he was briefly hospitalized. Don was born Nov. 3, 1914, in Grand Rapids, Mich., to Oscar and Martha Clinton. Later he and his family moved to Denver, Colo., where he met his wife, Billie. In 1951 Don became employed at the Los Alamos Laboratory as a machinist in the cryogenics group where he worked until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Eberhardt Clinton, his brother-in-law Edward Eberhardt, his brother Thurmon, his sister-in-law Naomi Clinton and his cousin Willena Cartwright.In his younger years, Don enjoyed amateur archeology, fishing, skiing, golfing and traveling through Europe. Don loved having a good time and was known to entertain people with his travel stories and jokes. He will be missed, especially by his son, David, and daughter-in-law, Corry, as well as by his many friends.Cremation has taken place by McGee Memorial Chapel in Santa Fe and interment of his ashes will take place in Denver in a private ceremony.A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, at the United Church of Los Alamos. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
