Jose Duran, 40, of Los Alamos appeared in Magistrate Court on charges of disorderly conduct. Duran pled nolo contendere and the court accepted the plea as an admission of guilt only for the purposes of that day’s court action. Judge Pat Casados sentenced Duran to 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended. Duran received robation and ordered to enter alcohol screening and treatment and/or anger management. Duran was found not guilty of battery per a plea agreement with the state and was ordered to pay $73 in court costs and a $25 per month probation fee.

Lonnie Duran, 51, of Los Alamos appeared in Magistrate Court on charges of driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs. Duran pled guilty and the court found the DWI offense to be his third. Judge Pat Casados sentenced Duran to 30 days in jail to be served on electronic monitoring after he serves fours days on electronic monitoring for a Rio Arriba case. The judge suspended Duran’s sentence and ordered him to serve two years of supervised probation concurrent with Rio Arriba Magistrate Court compliance. He also was ordered to enter alcohol screening and treatment and to perform 96 hours of community service under the supervision of a Rio Arriba Magistrate compliance officer. The judge ordered Duran to pay the court $750 for driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs and $241 in fees.

 

3rd DWI and you get a slap on the wrist?

What a JOKE NM is... 3rd DWI and you should do an automatic jail time of at least 3 years. Get a grip NM, there are people in your state who have 15+ DWIs, because the pansy judges there cannot seem to sentence criminals. WAKE UP
