Saturday, the gift of hope will be presented to the community. Wrapped up in carnival colors, and ready to be opened by the whole family, Discover Hope will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Fuller Lodge.
The event, sponsored by the Hope Fellowship, was first held last year at Ashley Pond. Carla Weiser, co-founder of Hope Fellowship with her husband, Allen, said this year’s format will be similar to the first Discover Hope.
Inspirational live music will be played. There will be an inflatable jump house, games, balloons and more.
VaLynn Purvis, owner of Party to Go, will be taking her business to the event.
Additionally, giveaways, such as Frisbees and other items containing inspirational messages, will be distributed.
The whole purpose of the event is “we’re trying to give (the community) a gift of hope,” Carla Weiser said.
In addition to the music and giveaways, Discover will further shower the crowds with rays of hope with prayer requests. Six ministers have volunteered to be a part of the event.
Carla Weiser said the event was formed out of the desire to help the community.
