The Deming Wildcats won both ends of the Class 4A golf championship tournament Tuesday.
The Wildcat girls shot nearly identical scores both Monday and Tuesday to finish with 709 total shots, 27 shots better than runner-up Albuquerque Academy. The Wildcat boys nipped the St. Pius X Sartans by six strokes, earning a team total of 633.
This year’s 4A tournament was played at New Mexico Tech in Socorro.
Goddard finished third in girls team play and Artesia was third for the boys.
Taylar Jaramillo of Belen won the girls individual title by a five-stroke margin (153) while Deryk Perales of Deming took the boys title by just two strokes.
