New Mexico youth who will be junior and senior high-schoolers this fall are invited to register for and participate in the Next Big Idea STEM Student Day on Friday, July 17, in Los Alamos from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The all-day event is being organized by Los Alamos MainStreet in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Innovate-Educate New Mexico.
The day will include a variety of interactive activities in a broad range of science and technology areas as well as a chance to learn more about science, technology, engineering, and math-related careers. Lunch, snacks, transportation, T-shirts, and tickets to the immersive visualization shows at the Next Big Idea Festival on Saturday the 18th are all included in the registration fee.
STEM Student Day on the 17th will be complemented by the Next Big Idea Festival of Discovery, Invention, and Innovation on Saturday the 18th at Ashley Pond in downtown Los Alamos. The public festival is a day of family friendly exhibits, activities, and entertainment.
Researchers, businesses, educators, artisans, and innovators of all types from Los Alamos and beyond will share their ideas and hands-on activities.
