The Dallas Christian College Worship Arts Department’s 2012 Kingdom Week Tour Program, “Heal Our Land,” featuring the Concert Choir, Mixed Ensembles and True 2 Life Drama Troupe will be at the Christian Church, 92 East Road, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
This year’s tour includes visits to churches in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Texas, as well as a service project at the YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park, Colo.
The Concert Choir is a 30-member mixed chorus which has toured widely in the United States, performing in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, New York and Ohio, as well as Texas and Oklahoma. In addition, the Choir performed with the Southern Methodist University Meadows Chorale at its 2006 Grand Event in the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.
Focusing on the familiar passage from 2 Chronicles 7:14, this year’s tour program will feature a message in drama, plus a variety of gospel and contemporary Christian classics, including “The Last Words of David,” “On Jordan’s Stormy Banks,” “Be Thou My Vision,” “An American Anthem” and “Heal Our Land” (song for the National Day of Prayer). The DCC Concert Choir is under the direction of Scott Spies and is accompanied by Bonnie Graem.
