Los Alamos residents who wish to help the Landon family, who recently lost their home and possessions in a house fire, can drop off gift items at Curves. The women’s fitness franchise has adopted the Landon family as their Christmas family.“Here at Curves we have an annual tradition of collecting gifts for those in need at Christmas time,” said Crystal Dufresne, Curves Los Alamos owner and manager. “This was an obvious choice, given the huge loss they’ve had and the timing.”The family’s Christmas list includes clothing, books, music CDs, movie DVDs and general household items. A registry list is available at Curves. For clothing sizes and to register your gift and avoid duplication, call Dufresne at 661-2455. Hours for drop-offs are 7 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday.“In less than a week we’ve got an overwhelming response,” Bobbie Landon said. “I don’t know what we’d have done without this community. We’re in tears every day because people want to help.”
