DECORAH, Ia. – Jessica Mietz, a 2008 graduate of Los Alamos High School, has made the cross country team Luther College.
Mietz, a true freshman, is the daughter of Don and Lisa Mietz of Los Alamos.
At Luther College, Yarrow Pasche will begin her fourth season as associate head coach.
Pasche has been named Iowa Conference Coach of the Year twice after leading the Norse to back-to-back league titles in 2006 and 2007.
Pasche was also named the 2007 Region Coach of the Year after Luther captured the 2007 Central Region title, its third in school history and first since 2004.
During her tenure, her teams have qualified for the NCAA III National Championships in 2006 and 2007, finishing 11th and 10th.
The Norse enter the 2008 campaign ranked second in the NCAA III and first in the Central Region. The Norse start their season at the Central Invitational Saturday.
Luther will host the 37th Annual All-American Invitational on Sept. 13 with the junior high races starting at 9 a.m., followed by the high school races at 9:30 a.m. and finally the collegiate races at 11:15 a.m.
