IRVING, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys will get to spend a lot of time at home late in the season.
While the Cowboys already knew they were playing in the NFL’s kickoff game Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the New York Giants, they now know where and when the rest of their games will be.
The NFL released its full schedule Tuesday night, and Dallas will play five games at Cowboys Stadium in a span of six weeks before its regular-season finale at Washington. But that also means four road games in five weeks before that.
The NFC East rival Redskins play at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since 2002, potentially with Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III from Baylor as their quarterback.
That traditional holiday game will be one of three consecutive home games for the Cowboys. It is the first time in five years, and the first time at Cowboys Stadium, they will play three games in a row at home. That stretch begins Nov. 18 against Cleveland, which has former Texas Longhorns standout quarterback Colt McCoy.
After Cleveland and Washington four days later, the Cowboys host Philadelphia in a Sunday night game Dec. 2. They then go to Cincinnati to face former TCU quarterback Andy Dalton, and have home games against Pittsburgh and New Orleans before the regular season finale Dec. 30 at Washington.
They will have 10 days between the season opener and their next game, Sept. 16 at Seattle. The first home game is Sept. 23 against Tampa Bay, followed a week later by a Monday night home game against Chicago.
