County projects will be the highlight of Tuesday night’s council meeting. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Community Building.
Council will begin the evening by recognizing the Atomic City Transit for two awards they recently received at the 2009 Annual Conference for the New Mexico Passenger Transportation Association.
The consent agenda is a bit heavy, with four items slated for approval. The first item is the acceptance of Knecht Street as county public infrastructure and approval of the associated replat of Lot One, Subdivision of Tract 1-B, subdivision of Tract One; and Tract 1-A, Subdivision of Tract One; and Amended Tracts Two and Three all being a subdivision of Tract QA (Knecht Street Dedication).
The second item on the consent agenda is the award of Bid No. 2009-20 to Kelly Utility Field Services in the amount of $626,669.77 and approval of the project budget in the amount of $698,103.53, for the Airport Basin fiber optic project.
The third item is also an award of a bid. This one is Bid No. 2009-12, to S.G. Western Construction in the amount of $692,518.50 and a contingency in the amount of $50,000.00 for a total project budget of $742,518.50 for the Camp May Fire protection system.
The final item is the approval of Agreement No. AGR3518-09 with RMCI, Inc., for the addition of a low flow turbine generator at the existing Abiquiu Hydroelectric Plant.
Two ordinances will be introduced on Tuesday night, as well. The first is an ordinance amending Chapter 40, Article III, Sections 40-201 of the Code of the County of Los Alamos, increasing sewer utility rates.
The second ordinance to be introduced is an ordinance amending and restating the economic development plan of the county in accordance with the local Economic Development Act.
In addition, 15 residents will be appointed to the Citizen Steering Committee for the siting of a municipal building.
There will also be an amendment made to the Entrada Development Agreement.
The last business item on the agenda is a briefing on the Rendija Canyon Master Plan.
