Tour new county building on Friday

The public is invited to tour the new municipal building from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday.
Tours led by county staff will depart from the main lobby in small groups approximately every 15 minutes, with the last tour beginning at 10:15 a.m. The tour is expected to take approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
At 11 a.m., there will be an official grand opening and building dedication ceremony hosted by the county council. The ceremony will be on the large plaza located on the west side of the building, and includes the unveiling of the official building dedication plaque, which will later be mounted inside the main lobby.
Light refreshments will be served from 9 a.m. to noon in the main lobby.
In conjunction with the June 28 Municipal Building tour and grand opening event, the Fire Department will also host a grand opening and tours of their new administration offices from 9-11 a.m. on the second floor of 999 Central Ave., and the Historical Society Archives will offer separate tours of its new facility during this same time frame also on June 28.

Horse show slated for July 20

The Los Alamos County Recreation Division will present the Los Alamos County Horse Show at 9 a.m., July 20 at Brewer Arena. Horse Show registration forms are available at the Aquatic Center or visit the website at losalamosnm.us/rec. The deadline for pre-registration is 5 p.m. July 17 and return all registration forms to the Aquatic Center.
Pre-Registration: $5 class entry per participant by July 17.
Late Registration: $8 class entry per participant after July 17.
Family Registration: $30 per family. Families are three or more participants. Participants must be immediate family members residing in the same household. After July 5, the registration fee will be $40.00 per family.
Age categories are separated as follows: 9 years old and under, ages 10-13, 14-18 and adult, 18 and over.

The Parks Division will be applying Broad Leaf Weed Herbicides (Trimec) during the week of June 22 -28 in the following areas:
• Brewer Arena
• All North Mesa Parks and Fields
• All Barranca Mesa Parks and Fields
• All White Rock Parks and Overlook Fields
