Los Alamos County Council will hear a series of presentations at their meeting in White Rock Tuesday, beginning with a report from the Historic Sculptures Master Plan Committee.

The committee will present a plan that grew out of discussions about where to place artist Susanne Vertel’s sculptures of J. Robert Oppenheimer and General Leslie Groves. The master plan will provide suggestions for these and other sculptures that are envisioned as a part of the project.

The Mainstreet Futures Committee will deliver a presentation including ways to overcome obstacles in implementing the county’s vision for downtown planning.

Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kevin Holsapple will discuss the results of a study on how downtown businesses can drive business and traffic by increasing their curb appeal.

Los Alamos County Housing Program Manager Steven Brugger will describe preparations for a funding application for the White Rock Visitor Center. Los Alamos County is eligible for funds from the Federal Highway Administration through the New Mexico Tourism Department’s Scenic Byways Program.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the White Rock Town Hall, 133 Longview.
