The county council will meet at 7 p.m. in White Rock on Tuesday for its monthly work session. The meeting will be held at the Town Hall.
A proclamation declaring July 18 as “The Next Big Idea” Day in Los Alamos County was removed from the council agenda last week but is back on the agenda for Tuesday.
The consent agenda is light this week, with only three items listed. All three items, however, involve the Los Alamos Airport.
The first item pertains to a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration in the amount of $450,288 to fund the construction of drainage improvements at the Los Alamos Airport.
The second item has to do with the award of bid to Paul Parker Construction in the amount of $391,017.27 to construct drainage improvements at the Los Alamos Airport.
The last consent agenda item concerns a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration in the amount of $508,180 to fund the design of a runway rehabilitation and extension at the Los Alamos Airport.
The business portion of the agenda is a bit heavier, with four items slated for the meeting. Council will discuss the potential need and a process for updating the county vision statement and related policy documents.
There will also be a discussion of concepts, plans and practices for the integrated maintenance of county assets.
A discussion will also be held regarding the charter requirement of political party affiliation for members of boards and commissions. In addition to the discussion, council may also decide to give staff some sort of direction.
The final business agenda item will be the approval of annual increases for the county administrator, county attorney and utilities manager.
In addition, council will also make an appointment to the Valuation Protests Board.
Because the meeting is being held in White Rock, it will not be televised or available for streaming on the Internet.
