County council is set to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers at the Community Building at 20th Street and Central Avenue. The meeting is open to the public.Agenda items include proclamations declaring the week of April 13-19 as “National Public Safety Telecommunicator Appreciation Week” and April 11 as “Tribute to Teacher Excellence Day” in Los Alamos County.Council also is scheduled to recognize County Administrator Max Baker for his recent appointment to the board of directors of the Center for Public Safety Excellence.The consent agenda lists approval of the following items:• purchase of two 2008 Trackless Municipal Tractors with plows from O.J. Watson Co. of Denver in an amount not to exceed $174,092;• budget Revision No. 2008-17;• purchase of Bomb Response Vehicle in the amount of $203,150;• purchase of software, equipment and services from Intergraph corporation in the amount of $155,326.97 for the implementation of a mobile data and jail management system;• revisions to series 728 of the personnel rules regarding outside employment; and• resolutions establishing departments and prescribing their functions.Council also is expected to hear a presentation of the recommendation of the Loan Advisory Committee related to an economic development financial assistance loan request by the New Mexico Consortium.A discussion and possible award of a contract for a General Service Agreement with North Star Destination Strategies in the amount of $114,000 plus applicable gross receipts tax for the “community branding” of Los Alamos County is on the agenda.Appointments of representatives are on the docket for the Labor Management Relations Board, Transportation Board and Personnel Board.
