After having received 11 letters of interest for the vacant council seat, County Councilors will discuss possible action on filling the councilor vacancy. If all goes well on Tuesday, a new councilor may be appointed. However, if more discussion and time is needed, it’s possible than an appointment could be put off until Feb. 3.
Also on Tuesday night, councilors will proclaim 2009 as the 60th Anniversary of Los Alamos County. In addition, Feb. 6, 2009 will be designated as Tafelmusk Day and will kick off the yearlong anniversary celebration.
There are four items slated for the consent agenda, as well:
• Approval of profit transfers to the general fund for fiscal year 2008
• Approval of budget Revision No. 2009-24 increasing funding for purchase of a dump truck for Utilities gas, water and sewer division from the equipment fund in the amount of $20,000
• Approval of Memorandum of Understanding MOU3477-09 between the Incorporated County of Los Alamos and Comcast, Inc., for the Diamond Drive Phase 3 project, and
• Incorporated County of Los Alamos Resolution No. 09-03; approving the execution and delivery of a gas supply agreement by and between the Incorporated County of Los Alamos and the New Mexico Municipal Energy Acquisition Authority and a financial guaranty agreement by and among the Incorporated County of Los Alamos Municipal Energy Acquisition Authority and a credit support provider, authorizing the execution and delivery of additional closing certificates and agreements necessary to carry out the transactions contemplated in the gas supply agreement; ratifying prior action taken related thereto and repealing action inconsistent therewith.
Two public hearings will also be held at the meeting. The first one is for a new liquor license application submitted by Mohamed Rzig, doing business as Pyramid Café, located at 751 Central Ave. Unit #12. The second public hearing will address an ordinance adopting Revision No. 2008-03 to the Official Zoning Map of Los Alamos County by rezoning 0.66 acres of land more or less at 226 East Road and being a portion of Lot 1 and Lot 2B of La Sombra Subdivision within Eastern Area No. 3, from R-3_H-40 to P-L.
There will also be one appointment to the Planning and Zoning commission, in addition to Parks and Recreation Board appointments.
