With minimal snowfall and higher than normal temperatures being experienced this winter in Los Alamos, road construction projects will be getting underway earlier than in previous years. To keep motorists informed of any possible traffic delays, the County issues a weekly “Construction Update” every Friday morning. The update is featured on the KRSN 1490 AM noon news on Fridays, and appears in the Los Alamos Monitor on Sundays. It is also posted to the County’s webpage at www.losalamosnm.us.
Public Works Projects:
For more information about the projects listed below, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call 662-8150.
Diamond Drive Phase 4:
Work gets underway on this final phase of road re-construction in March. Motorists will see contractor activity on Diamond Drive between University Drive and the Los Alamos Canyon Bridge as they install temporary traffic signals at three intersections: Diamond/West Road, Diamond/Trinity, and Diamond/Canyon. Traffic control will be minimal; expect a northbound lane drop at Canyon Rd. Work will be completed during non-peak traffic times.
Quemazon Gas Line Installation:
Beginning Monday, motorists should expect minimal delays due to a road closure in Quemazon subdivision at the Brisa del Bosque/Esperanza intersection leading to the Montessori School. The contractor will be installing a gas line to the school. Access will be provided for residents. Entrances to the school will be maintained.
