County contractor Cisneros Concrete began replacement and reconstruction of handicapped ramps on the NE and NW corners of Central Avenue and 15th Street at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
Motorists approaching the intersection should treat it as a four-way stop.
One lane in each direction of traffic will be maintained.
Work will start on the NE corner and then move to the NW corner.
Demolition and placement of concrete should take two to three days, with an additional five to seven days for concrete cure time.
Vehicular and pedestrian access to local businesses will be maintained.
All work should be completed within 20 days, barring weather or mechanical delays.
Expect increased congestion along the Central Avenue and 15th Street corridors.
Use of an alternate route is highly recommended.
