Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 2:
Note: Canyon Road between 15th and 9th Street is Closed to Through Traffic. Due to the significant amount of work and equipment in the roadway, non-resident motorists are asked to avoid the construction area and seek alternate routes.

Paving operations will begin on Canyon Road between 15th Street and Nugget on Saturday August 10. Equipment will be staged at 7 a.m. and paving will begin at 8 a.m. Expect significant construction traffic. Residential access in the immediate area will be provided; all other motorists should seek alternate routes. Expect lane closures and flagging operations with the potential for delays. Please do not walk or drive on the fresh pavement until the barriers are removed. Fresh pavement is very hot and can melt shoes and damage tires.

15th remains closed between Canyon and Sage north. 15th is also closed between Oakwood north and Oakwood south for the utility tie-ins and gas line installation. Sage north at 15th will be open on Monday and the closure will shift to Sage south for construction of fillets and a valley gutter at that intersection. During the Sage south closure, use Sage north. Trenching for utility work continues to progress south of Oakwood Loop south on 15th Street; expect continued lane closures with flagging operations and detours as work progresses through side street intersections.

Quartz at Canyon is closed; Piñon Loop south is closed; and Opal and Nugget at Canyon is also closed for valley gutter installations. All Canyon Road intersections should be open by August 15.

Concrete work is about 90% complete on Verde Ridge and Arroyo Lane. Once concrete work is done, contractor will begin roadbed preparation, likely late this week or early the week of August 19.

RMCI continues to use a 15-passenger van to transport pedestrians through the Canyon Road construction site. The van circulates every 5 to 7 minutes while RMCI is working, typically 7 a.m. to 5-7 p.m. depending on the job activity, Monday through Saturday. This service for pedestrians will continue until sidewalks are open on at least one side of Canyon. Each evening, RMCI will re-establish the pedestrian paths for use. The van route starts at 9th Street and Canyon Road continuing north on Canyon, making the Nugget, Opal and Piñon Loops. Pedestrians on Nugget, Opal, and Piñon Loops will be picked up in front of their residence. Additional stops include the Pine Street cul-de-sac and Quartz at 6th Street. The route will end at Canyon and 15th Street. The driver will then turn around and repeat the route in the opposite direction. Pedestrians are asked to use the van service provided.

Western Area Phase 1:
43rd Street remains closed to through traffic on both sides of Trinity. Water service tie-ins will occur on 43rd north of Trinity. Once these water service tie-ins are completed, the contractor will move to 44th Street, which will then be closed to through traffic for the installation of the water line main.

The current lane closure and flagging operation at Fairway and 43rd may continue into this week due to weather delays; work in this area includes storm drain structure installation and curb & gutter placement followed by subgrade preparation and base course placement.

On 43rd and 45th north of Trinity the contractor will begin preparation for curb and drive pad placements possibly before the end of the week. Driveway access will be maintained until the formwork is placed. Residents will be given 48-hour notification when driveways will be temporarily out of service to allow the concrete to cure.

Access to residences as well as services such as mail delivery, emergency services, and trash and recycling collection will be maintained. Residents are asked to maximize use of off-street parking. Any necessary on-street parking should be away from the active work zones. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. with possible weekend work if necessary.

Cañada del Buey Multi-Use Trail Improvements:
The contractor continues to work on the Longview corridor from Bonnie View to Rover. Part of this work will include sidewalk reconstruction at Rover. Although no lane closures are anticipated, please watch for trucks and equipment entering and exiting the roadway. The driveways at Park Lane and the private drive off Longview will be fully reopened on Monday.

Central Avenue Crosswalks:
County crews will continue milling and replacing crosswalks in the downtown section of Central Avenue. Work should be completed mid-week. Expect flagging operations with minor delays.

Canyon Glen Bridge Safety Attenuators:
Work continues on the installation of the new attenuators. Vehicular traffic is not impacted; however, pedestrians are asked to use the provided pedestrian pathway.
