March on Hunger
Aspen, Chamisa and Mountain Elementaries, along with Los Alamos Middle School, are collecting non-perishable items for people and collars and leashes for pets as a community project and a student service project combine their efforts. For more information, call 661-4846. The Los Alamos Monitor, KRSN, AM 1490 and the Betty Ehart Senior Center continue the March on Hunger through the end of the month.
Photos being sought
Blue Star Mothers is seeking photos of area military men and women serving in the armed forces. Photos will be displayed on the organization’s “Wall of Heroes.” This traveling case is displayed at fundraisers and community events. The Fuller Lodge Art Center needs up to a dozen new volunteers. Volunteers sit at the reception desk, greet visitors as they enter and handle any sales. Often visitors have questions about Los Alamos and the interactions with the volunteers become part of their vacation experience. Shifts available are from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Call Amy Bjarke at 662-1635 or email gallery@fullerlodgeart
