Help Barranca students
Students at Barranca Elementary are collecting funds to help fix their basketball court and build a new court. Monetary donations may be made to help fund the project, or bricks may be purchased for $100. Those who purchase bricks may have their names engraved on them. Singers needed
Do you like to sing? Join the Choral Society, a non-auditioned chorus for all ages in Los Alamos. For their spring concert, they will be sing love songs, some Brahms, favorites from the Beatles and some spirituals. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. at the United Church, 2525 Canyon Road. The concerts will be at 3 p.m. May 22 in Los Alamos and at 1 p.m. May 30 in the town of Cochiti Lake. Their first rehearsal is Feb. 8. Call Chuck, 662-9127, or Wendy, 231-0162, for details.
School supplies needed
The Los Alamos High School National Honor Society is holding a “Supplies for Haiti” drive. The school supply drive will be from Feb. 1-28. There will be boxes at the high school, as well as in Mesa Public Library, the YMCA, Starbucks and Smith’s.
