Coalition extension

-A A +A
By Arin McKenna

After an hour and a half in closed session, Regional Coalition Vice Chair Alice Lucero (Mayor, City of Española) announced that the coalition would extend The MVM Group, LLC.’s contract to provide executive director services for 30 days, during which time the search for a new executive director would go out to bid. “The MVM Group has done an excellent job of providing executive director services,” Lucero said. “They have brought a higher level of professionalism to this organization, increased our profile and had a definite impact on our effectiveness in Washington, D.C.” Executive director DeAnza Sapien (above) said, “On behalf of The MVM Group, we will continue to support the mission and goals of the Regional Coalition in an unofficial capacity. We appreciate the opportunity and the relationships we’ve been able to make during this year. “We’re proud of the success of the coalition in the past year, especially in regards to developing professionalism and openness and transparency. We’ve created a presence in Washington that has helped move the money for cleanup.”
The coalition will elect new officers at its next meeting, 9 a.m. Aug. 16 in the Taos Town Council Chambers. The coalition will also hear several updates on economic development in the region
