Christian concert Friday

Bill Drake lived in Los Alamos in the 1980s and operated Captain Video. Now, Drake is returning to Los Alamos to ask the question, What are you living for that is worth dying for?

Drake and his band, the Bill Drake Band, will be posing this question during a free concert, "Wear the Crown," at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Duane Smith Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will offer more than music, said Jesse Taylor, associate pastor of Crossroad Bible Church. Drama, dance and multi-media productions. It will provide "a full experience," Taylor said.

He added, "Its message is timely; it's definitely to the point and challenging."

The concert is based on a song "Wear the Crown," which was inspired by a woman in Lebanon who was martyred for her faith.

From this story, sprung a book, "Wear the Crown," which is published by Voice of the Martyrs.

Also, mission booths will be set up in the lobby with information about how to become involved in missions around the world.

He explained that Drake, while living in Los Alamos, helped out with the church. Since he left the area, Drake went to Biola University in Los Angeles.
